Anita Sue Kolman Artist Representative has been connecting art lovers with artists and their work since 2001. Our vision is to make connections in a welcoming and friendly way. We believe art talks to all of us in very special ways and we strive to place art in homes and offices that our clients will enjoy for many years to come.

Anita Sue Kolman Artist Representative’s service is unique. We do not operate a gallery but rather we bring clients and artists together through studio visits or artists' visits to clients’ homes and offices. We encourage our clients to meet and interact with the artist who has created the art they purchase. When personal contacts are not possible, we invite our clients to get to know their favorite artist through telephone and e-mail conversations.

Our Principal, Anita Sue Kolman, decided to follow her passion for art after successful careers in higher education and research consulting. Her experiences as a volunteer arts educator in her local school district and as a docent at the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota convinced her she enjoyed facilitating connections between people and art. Her experiences also taught her that art lovers sometimes have difficulty expressing what they like about a piece of art, are timid about talking to artists about this, and thus may not purchase a piece of art because they are afraid to make a mistake. From her interactions with artists, Kolman realized that artists often find selling their art to be difficult. Kolman knew she had skills and expertise to overcome the barriers that prevent art lovers and artists from getting together. At the urging of an artist friend, she began representing artists in 2001.
